"...the author tells the real story of the Libyan Amazons, methodically proving that these brave women belong in history and not just mythology...Craig Candelore's enthusiasm for his subject shines through on every page. His account of Myrina's life and times is thorough and fluent, enhanced by multiple maps and illustrations."  ~Stefanie V.

"...this extraordinary presentation documents women as warriors and political leaders in ways not previously written about except as possible footnotes to history."    ~Laureen F.

Rising above the myth, The Libyan Amazons unravels historical accounts of ancient civilizations to chronicle the lives of Myrina, Queen of the Libyan Amazons, and her tribe.

The Libyan Amazons & the Conquest of Continents traces the many conquests of these earliest Amazon women warriors - not just of local North African tribes but stretching from the Atlantic coast deep into Europe and beyond.

Based on writings and clues left behind by their ancestors and supported by maps and illustrations, it painstakingly recreates the world of these ancient "Wonder Women."

From their rise to power to their poignant downfall, follow their extraordinary journey across continents and millennia, tracing the footsteps of these powerful women. What began as a book on ancient military history evolved into a thirty-year quest to find the real women behind the myths.

Drawing on ancient texts and modern discoveries, Mr. Candelore explores answers to who these women were, where they came from, how they lived, and how they became so fierce and powerful - and ultimately, how they died.

Craig A. Candelore has been fascinated with history and military history since his early youth. Uncovering the untold story and proving the existence of the Amazon women warriors of antiquity played to his strength and quickly became his passion.

He spent the better part of the last 30 years diving deep into the ancient world on a personal quest to prove the existence of one of the most dynamic groups of female warriors ever to walk the face of the earth. He feels privileged to be able to bring their story to light.
